The USS Hood is a well-worn London class vessel. Much of its systems are singlehandedly maintained by Chief Engineer Zrunt, who has fitted the Hood with a variety of slightly unorthodox modifications. Initially, the Hood was commissioned following the end of the Dominion war along with other London class ships to carry out various missions ranging from escort, combat and disaster relief as well as exploration. London-class vessels were built to be adaptable and would change configuration depending on the requirement of a mission. As London class vessels slowly decreased in demand, the USS Hood is on the verge of decommissioning. It is currently fitted with the exploration-type configuration.
Captain's Log, Stardate 57079.2 Myself and Lt. Upfield and Ensigns Croyl and Tioss have returned from the Beta Site. I am lost for words and restrained by temporal protocols. We indeed came into contact with the entity known as 'Alfie' though he managed to take the appearance of the late Admiral Kelm. Later, it was revealed to be a being comprised of hundreds...millions of quantum singularities. It's not something I have ever encountered, and it isn't something I can quickly recover from.
Lt. Upfield and Lt. Olander both managed to subdue the entity as well as an unknown organism which had invaded the auxilary docking port. To mine and surely the science department's disappointment, the organism disintergrated upon death.
Our mission was cut short by the intrusion of temporal forces...our efforts were applauded, like a game. I hear that casualties from sickbay were also removed from the scene with no trace. This resolution confuses me to no end, were we undergoing some sort of test? Are we still? These questions will linger with me for some time.
